Publication Ethics

The editorial board of the periodical is committed to upholding the standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. Editors of the periodical have a full right to reject the work from publication in case of revealing any such malpractices. The authors that submit their articles to the periodical “Bulletin of the Institute of Oriental Studies” should guarantee that their articles and its essential substance have not previously been published and are not being considered for publication elsewhere. Authors that submit their works must confirm that they have disclosed any conflicts of interest regarding authorship and publication of the work and must identify the publisher against any breach of such warranty. When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author's obligation to promptly notify the BIOS editorial board to retract or correct the paper. Authors should present a written permission to use any content that has not been created by them in their works if required.
Editors will not submit for publication any article containing data that the author is not authorized to use. The required rights are as follows:

  • Non-exclusive rights to reproduce the material in the article.
  • Print and electronic rights
  • Unlimited use of materials (i.e. there should be no restrictions on the reuse of material)

The reuse of tables, figures or paragraphs of another person’s work is permitted if the author gives a full attribution of sources and refers to the source in the reference list. If the other source undergoes any changes, it is incumbent on the author to cite the source.
